Governance

At Dempsey Corporation, governance is the framework that ensures our sustainability principles are put into practice with integrity, transparency, and accountability. In 2024, we published our first Annual ESG Report, formalizing our commitment to transparent disclosure across Environment, Social, and Governance pillars. This report outlines our policies, metrics, and progress toward clear goals, and reinforces our alignment with international standards such as the UN Global Compact and OECD Guidelines. Our ESG Committee, formed in late 2023,continues to provide oversight, coordinate audits, and ensure that sustainability practices are embedded across every level of the organization. We believe strong governance builds trust, drives ethical performance, and secures long-term value for all stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement

We view stakeholder input as essential to effective governance and sustainable growth. In 2025, we are expanding our engagement activities across our supplier, employee, and customer networks. Key initiatives included:

  • A voluntary demographic survey, respecting Canadian privacy laws

  • Supplier outreach on ESG onboarding and performance evaluation

  • Employee consultation on health and wellness program development

Our stakeholder engagement framework ensures that all voices are heard and reflected in our ESG strategies. Whether through town halls, customer surveys, or supplier audits, we strive for ongoing dialogue that shapes inclusive and responsive decision-making.

Policy Transparency and Ethical Oversight

We’ve made significant progress in documenting and publishing our internal governance standards. In 2024–2025, we published 11 publicly accessible policies, including our revised Code of Conduct, Anti-Bribery Policy, Whistleblower Policy, and Data Privacy Policy. Each outlines clear responsibilities, escalation procedures, and audit mechanisms. These are designed to comply with legislation such as PIPEDA, Bill S-211, and the Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act. Dempsey’s Procurement, Legal, HR, and ESG teams coordinate to ensure policy adherence through training, reviews, and third-party verifications. Our ethical foundation is not only stated, but structured, monitored, and enforced.
